The Netherlands are known for the amazing assortment of tulips that grow in the north and are sent around the world as gifts, decorations and more. Since I live here now I thought I should probably go see some of the big fields in and around Keukenhof, in Lisse (which is just southwest of Amsterdam), probably the most famous area where the tulips are grown. It's about an hour and a half from my house (small country eh?) and right now is the best time to go because all of the flowers are in bloom. Feel free to use these as desktop backgrounds and such. I have the original 15 megapixel photos (they were scaled down for this post to save space) so contact me if you'd like a copy of any of the photos full sized.
Keukenhof itself is a large park with floral arrangements, restaurants, some water and tons of tourists.
A word of advice to anyone planning a trip to go there - get there early, during the week, and leave in the afternoon. The place is a complete madhouse!
